Juan Rivera

Juan Rivera

Juan is a first-generation student who graduated from Rogue Community College, having obtained his AAS in general studies and as well as an AAS with a focus in marketing. He also holds various certifications in business assisting, business management, business information, and customer service. Juan grew up in Salinas California and moved to Southern Oregon in 1995. He is the second oldest of seven children.

Juan has volunteered at Northwest Seasonal Workers Association (NSWA), helping low-income migrant workers and agricultural workers with basic necessities like food, clothing, etc. He is also a member of the RCC Diversity Programing Board (DPB) that focuses on enriching, celebrating, and supporting our diverse community.

He’s been working for libraries for 20 years in both higher education and the public sector. However, he also brings a wide range of experience from jobs in clerical, manufacturing, and business management. Juan is honored to serve on the Rogue Community College Foundation because he values higher education and the commitment to helping staff, students, and the community. During his experience here at RCC, he came across many compassionate staff members that helped him complete his education, so in return, he would like to do the same.
