A native of southern Oregon, Ron was a lifelong advocate for the Rogue Valley. He brought people together and created lasting relationships that resulted in win-win outcomes. Ron’s service as the Executive Director of Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development, Inc. (SOREDI) helped build strong relationships between the College and many southern Oregon businesses.
“Ron was a great proponent of economic development in southern Oregon. To that end he supported education, particularly career and technical training available through community colleges. This scholarship in his honor at Rogue Community College is a wonderful tribute to him.”
— Colleen Padilla, Executive Director, SOREDI and RCC’s Alum of the Year 2020
His professional background covered over 25 years as an economic development executive for a multi-state regional utility. In addition, he served ten years at SOREDI.
