Rogue Hero Campaign

Rogue Hero Spotlight: Laurie Roe, Director of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Planning

Laurie Roe

"Financial aid doesn’t cover everything a student might need, nor does it cover every educational opportunity a student might want to pursue—especially in the area of skilled trades. By becoming a Rogue Hero, I know I am providing additional support to enable students to obtain the education they want."

Rogue Hero Campaign – Open to all RCC Employees

When people think of a hero, they often think of fictional characters like Superman or Wonder Woman. At RCC, we think of heroes as people who may not leap tall buildings in a single bound, but as those who make a positive impact in the lives of those around them with actions both big and small. We see examples of these heroic acts every day from RCC faculty and staff.

With our own heroes in mind, in 2011, the Rogue Hero Campaign took shape. Replacing the college's previous annual faculty and staff fundraising campaign (RCC Cares!), in its first year alone, RCC employees contributed nearly $45,000 through Rogue Hero in support of college programming, projects and students with 73% of employees participating.

Over the last five years, the employees of RCC have donated more than $175,000 in support of the college through the annual fall campaign. These funds are held by the RCC Foundation and benefit the college, its students and programs at the direction of each Rogue Hero donor.

This Year's Goal: Building Relationships

The Foundation has undergone some big changes and we want to reaffirm and strengthen our connection with all of you-the supportive staff and faculty of Rogue Community College.  The focus of the 2017-18 Rogue Hero Campaign is building relationships. The desire of the Foundation is to be a strong partner with the college to work together for the benefit of our students.  The funds raised from this campaign support not only student scholarships, but also department project grants and college initiatives that will improve buildings, construct additional classrooms and expand programs to meet  increasing employment demands.

RCC continues to shine as an outstanding community college in Oregon.  The staff and faculty here have so much to be proud of and the Foundation is excited to be a part of the excellent work done at the college.  By building a strong relationship, together we can be a powerful force in the education and preparation of the students of this community!
